Lexington Legends fans have a shot another thrill in addition to catching a foul ball this weekend. Movie cameras may catch them for some key scenes in a new movie, Hitting the Cycle.
J. Richey Nash, son of former UK basketball star Cotton Nash, is the writer, director and star of the film about an a former Major League Baseball player trying to make it back to the show. But he ends up having to give up that dream and find a life beyond baseball. For the ballgame scenes, the Legends and this weekend’s visitor, the West Virginia Power, agreed to wear the same uniforms through Thursday, Friday and Saturday’s games so footage from each game can be spliced together.
The film will be shot in and around Lexington over the next four weeks.
