Rumors of a Luke Bryan date at Rupp Arena have finally come true.

The reigning Academy of Country Music entertainer of the year will ring in the new year by playing the second date of his “That’s My Kind of Night Tour” in Lexington on Jan. 17, which is a Friday. Ticket information is not yet available for the Rupp date, which will include Lee Brice and Cole Swindell.

All dates on the fall leg of Bryan’s tour sold out quickly, including a two-night stand tonight and tomorrow in Nashville.

Bryan, who first gained notice in Nashville as a songwriter, has been on a meteoric rise since the release of his debut album, I’ll Stay Me. He has since rolled up seven No. 1 singles including the title cut from his latest album, Crash My Party. And he could have more hardware by the time he takes the Rupp Arena stage in early January as his is nominated for three Country Music Association Awards: CMA Awards, entertainer of the year, male vocalist and musical event for The Only Way I Know with Jason Aldean and Eric Church. The CMAs are Nov.6 in Nashville.
