Country music icon Dolly Parton will make a return to the series with her May 27 performance at the Eastern Kentucky University Center for the Arts. Her last time in Richmond was 2008, before ground had been broken on the 2,100-seat arts center.

The Evening Among Friends events are fund-raising events for the church. In the past, they have featured Bill Cosby, Regis Philbin, Natalie Cole, Harry Connick Jr. and Donny Osmond.

Parton’s appearance will be one of only 12 U.S. dates on her 2014 Blue Smoke world tour and one of only two benefit performances, the other being a Knoxville date supporting her own Imagination Library organization. The tour coincides with her new album for Dolly Records and Sony Masterworks, Blue Smoke, which will be released in the United States in May.

Tickets are $75 to $125.
